Help Us Recognize Prince William County Veterans
This Veterans Day, Prince William County is creating a special tribute to the veterans who are connected to our community, and we need your help to bring it to life.
Over Veterans Day, the Prince William County Government Center will be home to a One Community, Many Heroes Veterans Tribute, a temporary outdoor display featuring the faces and names of veterans with connections to Prince William County.
Each display will feature a veteran's photo, name and branch of service, creating a visual tribute to the people in our community who served.
And we want you to help us recognize them.
Who Would You Like to Recognize?
Maybe it's your parent or grandparent whose military photo has been in your family for decades.
Maybe it's your spouse, sibling, friend, neighbor or colleague.
Maybe you're a veteran yourself.
If there is a veteran with a connection to Prince William County who you would like our community to recognize, submit their information and photo below for consideration as part of the Veterans Tribute.
What We Need From You
Please provide:
Veteran's Full Name: Enter the veteran's name as you would like it to appear on the display.
Branch of Service: Tell us the branch of the U.S. Armed Forces in which the veteran served.
Connection to Prince William County: Briefly tell us the veteran's connection to Prince William County. For example, they may live or have lived in the county, work or have worked here, or have another connection to our community. This information will help us review submissions and will not necessarily appear on the final display.
A High-Quality Photo: Please upload a clear, high-quality photograph of the veteran. The photograph will be one of the largest and most important elements of the display, so image quality matters.
Photo Requirements
For the best results:
Please upload a clear, good-quality photo of the veteran. Since the photo will be enlarged for a banner, please send the best-quality version you have.
If the photo is on your phone: Upload the original photo directly from your photo library. Avoid screenshots or photos saved from social media when the original is available.
If the photo is on your computer: Upload the original photo file from your computer. If the photo was emailed to you, download the original attachment and upload that file.
If you have a printed photo: You can scan the photo or take a picture of it with your phone. Place the photo on a flat surface in good lighting and take the picture straight on, making sure it is clear and free of glare or reflections. If you are scanning your photo, be sure to scan at 100% of the photo size and at 600-1200 dpi.
You may also bring your printed photo to the Prince William County Office of Communications and Engagement and we can scan it for you. Our address is 1 County Complex Court, Suite 150, Woodbridge, VA 22192 and can assist Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
A few tips for choosing your photo:
Choose a clear, in-focus photo of the veteran wearing their military service uniform. The veteran should be easy to see and the main focus of the photo.
Send the original photo whenever possible.
Don't crop or edit the photo before uploading it. Our graphic designers will crop it to fit the banner.
Prince William County may contact you if a higher-quality version of the photo is needed.

Submissions must be received by Oct. 11, 2026, to be considered for inclusion in the Veterans Tribute.
Because available display space is limited and submitted photographs must meet requirements for large-format printing, submitting a veteran does not guarantee inclusion in the physical display.
Individuals submitting information and photographs must confirm that they have permission to provide the materials to Prince William County for use in the Veterans Tribute and related County communications.
